  • First of all, go to the official website of the Tamil Nadu Inspector General of Registration i.e., tnreginet.gov.in.

  • On the home page of the website, click on the Registration option followed by User Registration.

  • The registration form will open on the screen.
  • Now fill in the form with all the required details like:
  • Login Details: User Type, User Name, Password, and Security Question.
  • Personal Details: Salutation, Name, gender, email address, date of birth, mobile number, identification type, identification number, phone number, etc.
  • Address Details: State, District, PIN code, Street, etc.
  • After entering all the details correctly, enter the captcha code and click on the Receive OTP.
  • You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile Number. 
  • Enter the OTP in the specified space for verification.
  • After successful verification, click on the complete registration button.

Steps to Apply for Encumbrance Certificate (EC)

  • First of all, go to the official website of the Tamil Nadu Inspector General of Registration i.e., tnreginet.gov.in.

  • Click on the Sign In button. If you have not registered yet then click on the User Registration and register yourself first.
  • Once you are successfully logged in, click on the Encumbrance Certificate.
  • Now click on the Apply Online option
  • Once you click on the Apply Online button, an application form will open on the screen.
  • Now fill in the form with all the required details.
  • After that upload all the required documents.
  • Click on the Submit button.
  • Finally, once the application form is successfully submitted, take the printout of the application form for future reference.

To search for the Encumbrance Certificate, applicants need to follow the below-given steps:

  • First of all, go to the official website of the Tamil Nadu Inspector General of Registration i.e., tnreginet.gov.in.
  • On the home page of the website click on the E-services option followed by the Encumbrance Certificate and then click the View EC option.

    •  Plot Flat Wise
  • If you click on the EC option then you need to enter the zone, district, sub-registration office, EC Start Date, EC End Date, village, survey no, subdivision number, etc
  • If you chose the document-wise option then you need to enter the sub-registration office, document number, and year.
  • And if you click on the Plot Flat Wise then you need to enter the zone, district, sub-registration office, EC Start Date, EC End Date, village, survey no, subdivision number, etc
  • After that Enter the captcha code and click on the search button to search the Encumbrance Certificate.
