The ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) Foundation offers scholarships to low-income students from the General Category, OBC, and meritorious SC/ST children. ONGC scholarship is an exclusive scholarship program for students in the first year of Engineering, MBBS, Geology, MBA, Master in Geophysics. You can apply for the ONGC scholarship initiative if you are an Indian national. For Engineering / MBBS programs, the applicant must have received a minimum of 60 percent in class 12 and a minimum of 60 percent in graduation for PG courses. The student’s family’s annual income must be less than Rs 4.5 lakh. ONGC Scholarship 2021-22

ONGC Scholarships include the ONGC Foundation Scholarship for Financially Weaker General Category Students, the ONGC Foundation Scholarship Scheme for OBC Category Students, and the ONGC Scholarship for Meritorious SC/ST Students. Each year, applicants will be awarded Rs. 48000/-. Students taking professional degree courses will be eligible for the scholarship. The ONGC Foundation’s mission is to provide financial assistance to students. A total of 2000 scholarships will be distributed under this scheme, with 500 belonging to students from the Economically Weaker General Category, 500 belonging to students from the OBC category, and the remaining 1000 belonging to students from the SC/ST category. fifty percent of the students. Objectives of ONGC Scholarship

The major goal of this scholarship program is to assist deserving but financially disadvantaged students in completing their education Every year, the ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Company) Limited awards the scholarship to 2000 deserving students as part of its CSR program. The annual scholarship amount will be Rs. 48,000.

Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants who want to apply for the scholarship must fulfill the eligibility criteria put forward by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Foundation. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

Selection Process

The eligible candidates will be chosen by the ONGC Foundation based on several parameters, including:

  • The candidate will be chosen based on their overall performance in the qualifying examination required for each degree program.
  • Candidates with minimum annual family income will be chosen over students with equivalent grades in the qualifying examination.
  • Children from below-poverty-line (BPL) families will be given priority, and other students will be accepted only if a sufficient number of students from BPL families who meet the eligibility criteria are not available.

Terms and Conditions

Some of the significant terms and conditions for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Female students are eligible for 50% of the scholarships.
  • Candidates should apply for their respective categories only i.e., general, SC/ST or OBC 
  • Students must give active bank account information that will not be modified once they have been selected.
  • To keep the scholarship, students must achieve a minimum of 60%, or 6 grade points out of ten, on each year’s semester exams.
  • The chosen candidate cannot be receiving any other scholarship or financial help from any other source.
  • A caste certificate issued by appropriate government bodies must be shown.
  • Only full-time normal courses are eligible for the award.
