About Double Bedroom Scheme
The Double Bedroom Scheme in Telangana was launched in 2015 to provide housing to the poor families of the State. Under this Scheme, eligible Candidates are provided with a two-bedroom house of 560 square feet at a low cost. All the necessary amenities will be available in. So that the State can Develop and the livelihood of the people can also improve. By building double-bedroom houses for the homeless and underprivileged, the Government aims to substantially reduce Homelessness in the State. Eligible citizens can also avail subsidy facilities along with Permanent Housing.
Features of Double Bedroom Scheme
- Two Bedrooms, one Kitchen and Bathroom facilities are provided by the government under this Scheme.
- By building double-bedroom houses for the Homeless and underprivileged, the Government aims to substantially reduce Homelessness in the State.
- The aim of this Scheme is also to promote social welfare by improving the living Standards of poor families.
- Houses will be sanctioned in the name of the housewife for homeless families as well as families living in kutcha houses, huts or rented houses.
- The main objective of this Scheme is to provide a roof over the heads of needy families.
- This plan provides facilities of two Bedrooms, one Kitchen, Bathroom.
Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of Telangana.
- The applicant must belong to BPL families and must have a food Security Card.
- The applying family must not have any housing under other housing schemes.
- The candidate must not have his/her own Permanent house.
- Houses will be sanctioned in the name of the housewife for homeless families as well as families living in kutcha houses, huts or rented houses.
- There will be 5% of 2 BHK homes designated for those with special needs or impairments.
- Families who live in urban areas and belong to ST will receive the benefit of 6%, 65% to others; 17% to SC, and 12% to minorities.
- Families who live in rural areas and belong to SC/ST will get a 50% benefit. Minority- 70% and for others- 43%.

- Step 1: Firstly you Visit the official web portal https://2bhk.telangana.gov.in/.
- Step 2: Click on the “Application Status” option on the homepage.
- Step 3: A new page will appear on your screen. Enter your Aadhaar number and other Details, enter the captcha code given on the right.
- Step 4: After this, click on the “View Status” option displayed below the form.
- Step 5: Finally, the complete Details of the Application Status will be displayed on your screen.
