PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme College List 2025: check Eligibility Criteria

The Indian Central Government has released the PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme College List. The authorities have shortlisted the top 100 NIRF-ranked colleges from 860 institutes across India to provide the benefits of the scheme. Only students studying in the top 100 NIRF-ranked colleges are eligible to avail the scheme.

PM Vidyalaxmi Yojana was launched by the Government of India to provide assistance to students from economically weaker backgrounds by providing education loans for higher education. A total of 22 lakh students will be selected from these 100 colleges to provide educational loans under this scheme. What is the PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme?

Launched on November 6, 2024, the scheme is a government initiative to help students from economically weaker backgrounds pursue higher education without financial constraints. The government has allocated Rs 3,600 crore for the scheme, which aims to provide assistance to around 22 lakh students in these 100 top-ranked institutions. This scheme was launched with the aim of making education affordable and ensuring that no student has to give up their further studies due to financial problems. All the students who are selected under this scheme will get an educational loan of up to Rs 10 lakh.

NIRF National Institutional Ranking Framework is an organisation managed by the Ministry of Education in India that ranks educational institutions based on quality parameters such as teaching standards, research, and professionalism. The Ministry of Education of India is the nodal department that publishes the NIRF rankings annually.

• Only students who are permanent residents of India will be selected under this scheme.

Benefits of PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme

• Around 22 Lakh students can benefit from this scheme.
• The students who are selected under this scheme will get financial help in the form of educational loan up to Rs. 8 lakh.
• The officials will make sure that only meritorious students get the financial aid to study in the top 100 colleges.
• Under certain criteria, students will also get a waiver on interest during repayment of their educational loan.
• Educational loans under the PM Vidya Lakshmi Yojana will be collateral-free and guarantor-free.

• To avail the benefits under the scheme, students must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
• The student must be a permanent resident of India.
• The student’s family must be financially unstable.
• To get selected under this scheme, the students must be meritorious students.
• The student must pursue technical courses from top 100 NIRF ranking colleges.
• The annual income of the student’s family should not exceed Rs 8 lakh per annum.
