At the time of the covid-19 pandemic when schools are closed and online mode is the only source of education and every student is dependent on a mobile phone or internet for their classes, but everyone cannot afford or arrange smartphones or high charges of the internet. So, by keeping all these points in view our finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the PM eVidya 2023 under the “one Nation one digital platform” the motive is to reduce the loss of education at the time of the pandemic. The government will do all these efforts to ensure that there is no impact on the education of students. PM eVidya 2023
In 2020 when covid-19 was spreading all over the world and everything was shut down including schools, at that time the online classes were the only source to provide education to the students. But at that time everyone was not able to afford smartphones or high internet charges. So, to overcome this problem the government launched a DTH channel named Swayam Prabha to support financially unstable students. The government also launched 12 more such channels to help the students. The government will decide to launch a radio podcast and special content for visually impaired and hearing-impaired students. The PM e Vidya program has been launched for 100 universities and schools all over the country.
