Objectives of Delhi Ration Card 2023

The main objective of creating a new ration card is to discard the old ration card from the market and expand the Ration Coupon Application’s recipients. The Delhi Food Supplies Department issues ration cards to all those persons in the Delhi state who belong to the APL category i.e., Above Poverty Line category, BPL category i.e., Below Poverty Line category, AY category i.e., Annapurna Yojna, or AAY categories i.e., Antyodaya Yojana category. A ration card allows needy families to purchase food for themselves. Also, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, had made two announcements that the ration will be distributed free to the Delhi Ration Cardholders of Delhi for the next two months. So that the residents of Delhi might receive financial support and be self-sufficient by receiving free rations.

Different Types of Ration Card

There are four different types of ration cards. They are as follows

  1. APL i.e., Above Poverty Line
  2. BPL i.e., Below Poverty Line 
  3. AY i.e., Annapurna Yojna
  4. AAY i.e., Antyodaya Yojana

APL i.e., Above Poverty Line- APL ration cards are given to those families who fall between the Above poverty level and below the middle class. The Delhi government is not compelled to provide necessary food at subsidized costs under this scheme. The payment for this is set separately in each state.

BPL i.e., Below Poverty Line- BPL card is given to families who fall below the poverty line. The Delhi government supplies necessities and food grains at reasonable prices.

AY i.e., Annapurna Yojna Ration Card- AY Card is usually prepared for elderly people, however, if they receive any form of pension, they will not be able to get one. This program provides you with 10 kg of food, and it is open to those over the age of 65.

AAY i.e., Antyodaya Yojana- AAY Cards are given to people who are economically weaker as compared to others classes. Necessary items will be provided by the government at very low prices.
