Launch of Chattisgarh Quantifiable Data Commission for OBC/EWS Population Records
The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has launched the Chhattisgarh Quantifiable Data Commission to provide justice to the OBC/EWS sections of the society. The state government has taken several steps for the welfare of farmers, forest dwellers, laborers and landless people.
The state government had increased the reservation for OBCs from 14 percent to 27 percent through an ordinance on 4th September 2019. Apart from this, a provision of 10 per cent reservation has also been made for people of the EWS category. In compliance with the High Court’s direction and to legally strengthen the reservation provisions.
The state government has constituted a commission to collect quantifiable data by surveying other backward classes (OBC) and economically weaker sections (EWS) in the state population. The Chhattisgarh State Government has launched the CGQDC web portal and mobile app. This mobile app and web portal will help the commission to complete its work in a systematic and accurate manner.
