Banishree Scholarship is a Scholarship for Students with High Needs is a renowned scholarship scheme available to applicants who are currently residing in the state of Odisha and are unable to pay their academic fees or continue their studies in a reputable educational institute in the state of Orissa due to financial constraints. This program is also available to students pursuing technical, professional, or vocational training. The Banishree Scholarship Scheme offers financial incentives ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 250, as well as other benefits. The scholarship payment will be deposited immediately into the beneficiary’s bank account. This scholarship program is only available to residents of Odisha. The scholarship will be beneficial to students who are physically and cognitively challenged. The annual income of the student’s guardian must not exceed 60000 Rupees per year.

Objectives of Banishree Scholarship
The major goal of this program is to encourage children with special needs to attend school. Moreover, the government wants to encourage students to pursue their goals by meeting their educational requirements. Students will be given financial aid of Rs 100 to Rs 250 per month through this scholarship scheme, coupled with other specific allowances, to encourage students to pursue their goals by meeting their educational requirements, so that they can continue their studies without fear of financial hardship. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who want to apply for the Banishree Scholarship 2021 must fulfill the eligibility criteria put forward by the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Government of Odisha. The eligibility criteria for Banishree Scholarship 2021 are as follows:
- The applicant must be a citizen of Odisha state.
- Applicants who get primary education from 1st to 5th grade.
- Students in class 6th to class 10th who are enrolled in middle and high schools
- Students in colleges and universities
- Those candidates who are enrolled in a special school as defined by the PWD Act of 1995.
- Students enrolled in distance education programs at accredited universities or government-sponsored institutions
- The applicant’s annual family income must not exceed Rs 60,000 per year.
