Eligibility Criteria

Documents Required

The couples applying for the Delhi Marriage Registration, need to submit the documents as proof along with their registration form. If you are a New User of the portal then Register yourself first.
On the home page of the website, click on the ‘New User’ under the ‘Citizens Corner’.
‘Citizen Registration Form’ will open on the screen.

Now select the document type from the two given options i.e., ‘Aadhaar Card’ or ‘Voter Id Card’.
Enter the ‘Document Number’
Now enter the ‘Captcha Code’ and accept the ‘Declaration’.
Finally, click on the ‘Continue’ option to complete the registration process.

On the home page of the website, click on the ‘Registered User Login’ under the ‘Citizens Corner’.

‘Citizen Login Form’ will open on the screen.
Now enter your ‘User Id’, ‘Password’, and the ‘Captcha Code’.
Click on the ‘Login’ option.
Once you are logged in, click on ‘Apply for Services’.
Search the “registration of marriage” option.
Now, click on the ‘Apply’ button.
An application form will open on the screen.
Now fill in the form with all the required details like date of marriage, the bride’s details, groom’s details, location, witness details, etc.
After that upload all the required documents.

Once your form is successfully submitted, you will get an acknowledgment slip.
The acknowledgment slip will include the appointment date and time with the registrar.

Now enter the ‘Application/Certificate No’ and ‘Applicant’s Name’.
Enter the ‘captcha code’ and click on the ‘Search’ button.
Once you click on the ‘Search button, your Online Marriage Registration Certificate will be verified.

To apply for the Delhi Marriage Registration in an offline mode, applicants need to follow the following step by step procedure:

First of all, go to the official website of the Government of NCT of Delhi i.e., https://delhi.gov.in/.
On the home page of the website, click on the ‘Marriage Certificate and Registration’ under the ‘Home and Community section.

A new page will open on the screen, click on the “Application Form” or the link for registration of marriage under the Hindu Marriage Act.
The application form will open on the screen, save and download the application form.
Now fill in the form with all the required details.
Now submit the filled form along with all the required documents at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office.
Then, your documents will be verified.
After that, If the Hindu Marriage Act or the Special Marriage Act applies, a date is set and announced to the parties for registration. Both parties must be available after the documents are submitted for the issuance of a public notice inviting objections or complaints. If there are no objections or protests, the registration will be completed within 30 days.
