The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed over 65 lakh property cards under the SVAMITVA Scheme to property owners in over 50,000 Villages in more than 230 districts across 10 States and 2 Union Territories. On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the Svamitva Scheme was launched five years ago to ensure that people living in rural areas get their property cards. Over 1.5 Crore people have received legal documents under the Svamitva Scheme in the last 5 years across various States.
About 2.25 Crore people in Villages have now received ‘Record of Rights’ to property owners under the Svamitva Scheme. Drone surveys have covered more than 3.17 lakh villages, with 2.25 crore property cards in 1.53 lakh villages benefiting several states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

Modi Distributed over 65 Lakh SVAMITVA Property Cards
On January 18, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 65 lakh SVAMITVA Property Cards over 65 under the Svamitva Scheme to property owners in over 50,000 Villages. These property cards will benefit 10 states, 2 Union Territories and over 50,000 villages. On this occasion, the Prime Minister greeted the beneficiaries. The Svamitva Scheme was launched on April 24, 2020 (National Panchayati Raj Day) by Prime Minister Modi to provide “Record of Rights” to property owners in rural populated areas using drones and GIS technology. Under this scheme, land surveys of villages are done using drone technology and Ownership Certificates are given to property owners. The Scheme helps in reducing rural property disputes, ensuring legal rights on land and getting loans from banks.
