Educational Qualifications
- Project Scientist: Relevant Master’s degree or PhD with experience (varies as per subject).
- Project Scientific Assistant and Technician: Diploma or ITI with relevant experience.
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): B.E./B.Tech (Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Ocean Technology), M.Sc. in Marine Biology/Marine Science/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): B.E./B.Tech (Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Ocean Technology), M.Sc. in Marine Biology/Marine Science/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics

NIOT Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
- Interview: All shortlisted candidates will attend an interview, which will focus on their technical knowledge, research experience and problem-solving abilities. The interview is the most crucial stage and will assess candidates’ ability to contribute to marine technology research.
- Written Test: For certain positions like Project Scientific Assistant and project field assistant, candidates will first undergo a written test. This test assesses candidates’ theoretical knowledge in subjects such as oceanography, marine technology and research methodology.
- Trade Test: A trade test may be conducted for technical roles, such as Project technicians and field assistants. This practical test evaluates the candidate’s skills in operating equipment, conducting experiments and performing tasks relevant to marine technology and research.
