Kerala’s Department of Social Justice has introduced a scholarship program for children with differently-abled parents. Each student category will receive a scholarship under this program. This scholarship will be given to 25 children from all of Kerala’s districts for ten months. Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme 2023
The Social Justice Department has launched a new comprehensive scheme known as ‘Vidyakiranam,’ which offers academic support to financially disadvantaged children of differently-abled parents (disability for both parents/disability for any parent). Educational help will be provided to 25 students from each district for ten months from each category. The Kerala state government will grant financial aid to students under the Vidya Kiranam scholarship initiative 2023. This financial assistance is only available to children whose either one or both parents are disabled i.e., Handicapped. Only economically disadvantaged students will get funds under the Vidyakiranam Scheme.

Objectives of Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme
The primary goal of the Vidyakiranam plan is to provide financial assistance to children of disabled parents so that they can complete their education without any financial burden. Financial support will be provided to each category of a child from each district through this scholarship scheme, ensuring that the largest number of youngsters can get benefit from it.

Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme Features
- For ten months, all classes will be eligible for the scholarship.
- Scholarships will be granted to children of differently-abled parents through the Vidyakiranam Scheme.
- For each class, assistance will be provided only once.
- Students who are receiving benefits under another educational program are ineligible to apply for this program.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a course at a government-approved institution. Students pursuing courses at different universities or doing part-time classes are not eligible to apply.
- The fully completed application forms must be delivered to the concerned District Social Justice Officers through the appropriate Institution heads.
- The scholarship money will be transferred to the eligible recipients’ bank accounts.
Kerala Vidyakiranam Scholarship Benefits
- Twenty-five children from each district would benefit from the Kerala Vidya Karanam scheme.
- Depending on the category, the scholarship will range from Rs 300 to Rs 1000.
- This scholarship will be given to all classes for ten months.
- Applicants can receive assistance under this plan just once for a class, which means that to receive assistance, the applicant must pass the class in one attempt.
- The cash assistance will be instantly paid to the beneficiary’s bank account under this arrangement.
- To reach as many applicants as possible, implementation will be done district-wise.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be Kerala’s permanent resident.
- The applicant’s one or both parents must have 40 percent of disabilities.
- He/She must come from a BPL family.
- The applicant student must be enrolled in a government institution for high school and college.
- A bank account is required for all candidates. The money will be transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account by the state government.

- First of all, go to the official website of the Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme.

- A Pdf of the application form will open on the screen.
- Download the application form and take the printout of the application form.
- Now fill in the form with all the required details like:

- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Caste, etc
- After that, attach all the required documents to the application form and paste your photograph on the form.
- Now review and recheck the application form to avoid any mistakes.
- Now, Deposit the duly filled application form to your institutional head where you are studying.
- After that, the Institutional head will submit your application form to the concerned District Social Justice Officers
- Once your application form will be successfully verified, the scholarship amount will be transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account.
