e-NAM Portal 2024: Apply Online Registration @ enam.gov.in

Under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of the Central Government of India, the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium i.e., SFAC is the key agency for implementing e NAM. The concerned government created the e-NAM Portal 2024 so that all farmers can learn about various marketing methods. Different processes included in the marketplaces will be rationalized, promoting consistency in agricultural marketing.

This includes eliminating buyer-seller imperfect information and promoting real-time market pricing based on real order and supply. As diverse procedures across integrated markets are reduced, this farmer registration plan will enhance standardization in agriculture marketing.

e-NAM Portal 2024

The e Nam i.e., National Agriculture Market is a pan-India electronic trading system that connects the existing APMC mandis to create a unified national agricultural commodities market. Local farmers can now apply for farmer registration online using the e Nam portal at enam.gov.in. Farmers who want to sell their agricultural products can register as sellers by completing out the e Nam online application form. Through a transparent auction process, the e Nam standard online market platform would facilitate pan-India trade in agricultural commodities, allowing for better capital accumulation. This would be based on product quality as well as punctual online payments.

Objectives of e Nam Portal

Farmers harvest crops but then have the problem of selling them. The intermediaries were purchasing the crops from the farmers and then selling the crops in the market which led to a low profit margin for farmers. Thus, to address this issue, the Central Government established the National Agricultural Market (E-Name) site. Farmers will be able to register as sellers by filling out the e Nam online application form to sell their agricultural products and receive a fair price. The money will be paid directly to the farmers’ bank accounts after the harvest is sold.

This platform intends to provide farmers with greater marketing prospects by providing a competitive and transparent market pricing method as well as an online payment option for customers. Thus, the main objective of e Nam Portal is to provide Optimization methods across integrated marketplaces to achieve consistency in agriculture marketing.

e Nam Portal Benefits

  • Farmers may sell their products outside of local marketplaces using the e-NAM portal, reaching a larger client base.
  • It links multiple marketplaces in several states, allowing farmers to explore new prospects and earn higher prices for their goods.
  • The platform offers farmers real-time information on agricultural commodity pricing in various marketplaces.
  • This platform promotes transparency in the trading process by displaying all transactions and prices online, removing the risk of fraud or abuse.
  • Farmers may get vital information about market trends, demand patterns, and crop pricing via the e-NAM site.
  • This enables farmers to efficiently plan their agricultural and marketing plans, guaranteeing maximum resource utilization.

Features of the e Nam Portal

Some of the main features of e Nam Portal are as follows:

  • The Small Farmers Agricultural Merchants Association is in charge of implementing the reward.
  • The portal went live on April 14, 2016. Farmers can send their crops to any market in the country through this system.
  • e-NAM is a single point of contact for all services and information about the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC). This covers, commodity arrivals, quality, and pricing, purchase and sell offers, and electronic payment processing directly into farmers’ accounts.
  • Farmers may sell their goods online from their local market, while dealers can offer price estimates from anywhere. As a result, there are more traders and more competition.
  • Using the e Nam service, government authorities can issue licenses to traders, purchasers, and commission agents without demanding physical presence or ownership of a store or property in the marketplace.
  • Ensures open market pricing and higher farmer profits.
  • The first large step covers 25 commodities and 21 markets across eight states on launch day.
  • The government will add 200 mandis to the E name this year, to add 215 more mandis next year.
  • Farmers will no longer have to rely on intermediaries because of the advent of this gateway; instead, they will be able to send their crops straight to the mandis.
  • In every market, agricultural product quality requirements are standardized, and infrastructure for quality testing is made available.
  • Soil Testing Laboratories are available for the selected mandi or market to make it easier for farmers.
  • Working between two states is now possible thanks to the e Nam site.
