Under the Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme by the Karnataka State Government, all the selected citizens of the state will now be given 10 kg of rice. Earlier they were given 5 kg of rice by the Karnataka Government and financial assistance of Rs 170 for the same rice. Now according to the announcement of Karnataka State Food Minister Mr KH Muniyappa, under the Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme 2025, the citizens of the state will get additional 5 kg instead of financial assistance. There are 1.53 crore Ration card holders in the state of Karnataka and 5.36 crore people are availing the benefits of this Scheme.

About Anna Bhagya Scheme
The Anna Bhagya Scheme was launched by the Congress party on 9th July 2023 after coming to power in the state of Karnataka, which aims to provide free ration to the poor and needy people of the state. Chief Minister of Karnataka State Mr Siddaramaiah launched this Scheme and promised to provide 5 kg rice along with financial help of Rs 170 for additional 5 kg rice. But recently, after some important changes in the Anna Bhagya Scheme, now under this scheme, 10 kg rice per person is given free to the families living below the poverty line (BPL). This will enable many poor families to get the food they need every month.
