About Pongal festival 2025
The festival of Pongal is celebrated in the Southern States of India. It is especially celebrated with Excitement in Tamil Nadu. The Festival is celebrated on 14th January and lasts for Four days. Which marks the beginning of the Sun’s journey northward, known as Uttarayan. This festival is dedicated to the Sun God and is a way of Expressing Gratitude for a bountiful harvest. In which the house is cleaned on the first day and old items are burnt. On the second day, special Pongal dishes are prepared from rice, jaggery and milk. the third day, cows and bulls are decorated and worshipped.
