Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) Pattern

The candidates will have to prepare themselves for the Computer Based test based upon the following examination pattern:-

  • The CBAT is conducted for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master. The questions and answer options will be in English and Hindi. There is no negative marking in CBAT. In this test, candidates are given different test batteries consisting of five-six tests as per the posts.

Typing Skill Test Pattern 

The candidates will have to prepare themselves for the skill test through the following examination pattern:-

  • The typing skill test is conducted for the posts of Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper. The test is qualifying in nature. Candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Computer. Candidates cannot use editing tools and spell check facilities.  

Marking Scheme 

The marking scheme for the written examination is given below in the following list:-

  • For the correct answer, candidates will get one mark
  • There is negative marking for wrong answers, 1/3 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers
  • The marks of each session of the test will be normalised since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions
  • Normalisation of marks is done to adjust the difficulty of question papers

  • You will first have to visit the official website of RRB by clicking on the link given here
  • The homepage of the organisation will be displayed on your screen

  • A new page will be displayed on your screen 
  • Now you will have to choose the vacancy that you want to apply for. 
  • The guidelines to fill up the application form will be displayed on your screen.
  • You have to read the guidelines carefully and tick mark the declaration.
  • Enter basic details related to your name, Date of Birth and Father‘s name, Mother‘s Name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric Roll Number, Year of Passing, Mobile Number and email-ID and then submit for registration. 
  • You will now have to verify all of the information that you have entered in the application form.
  • Verify your phone number by entering the OTP.
  • On successful OTP activation, the registration number will be generated. This will also be sent on the registered email ID and mobile number of candidates.
  • Now, you have to login using the ‘Candidate Login’ button on the homepage.
  • Login using your registration number and password.
  • You will now have to enter the information related to the Educational Qualification, Community, Gender, Religion, Ex-SM, PwBD, Minority, Economically Backward Class and Age Relaxation eligibility category and other details.
  • On completion of the above application details, candidates will be redirected to the payment page. 
  • Choose the payment mode. 
  • Fee payment can be done through online and offline mode.
  • Now, you have to enter detailed educational qualifications 
  • Select your Mother Tongue, Moles/Identification Marks, Address etc.
  • Upload the documents by keeping in mind the following details-
    • The size of the photograph should be 35mm x 45mm or 320 x 240 pixels.
    • The photograph should be in JPG/JPEG format.
    • The size of the photograph should be between 20 to 50 kb.
    • The dimension of the signature should be 50 mm x 20 mm or 140 x 60 pixels
    • Size of the file should be between 10 KB-40 KB
    • Candidates belonging to SC/ST community who opt to avail Free Rail Travel are required to upload a scanned copy of SC/ST certificates.
  • Finally, submit the application form.

Rejected/Accepted Clause

The authorities can accept or reject any application form based upon their own rules given below:-

  • If candidates upload an invalid photograph
  • The signature is in capital/block letters
  • If candidates do not possess the prescribed educational qualification
  • Date of birth wrongly entered in the application form
  • Multiple applications to different RRBs
  • Candidate’s name in the debarred list of any RRB/RRC
  • Incomplete or incorrectly filled application form

Editing Application Form

The candidates can edit the application form based upon the following eligibility:-

  • After the final submission of the online application form, in case candidates wish to make minor changes, could do so by paying Rs 100. 
  • The correction of data other RRB, email, and mobile number could be done. In case of changes in SC/ST to UR or OBC, candidates had to pay Rs 250 in addition to the modification fee. 
  • In case, candidates are changing their category from Ex-SM/PwBD/Female/Transgender to UR/OBC (NCL)/Non Ex-SM/Non-PwBD/Male, etc had to pay Rs 250 in addition to the modification fee.
