Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister AK Sharma has launched the UP One-Time Settlement Scheme 2024. The One-Time Settlement scheme (OTS) allows electricity consumers to pay their outstanding electricity bills including surcharges in three phases from December 15, 2024 to January 31, 2025. Consumers will have to register and deposit 30% of the principal amount of their electricity bills received by September 30, 2024.
The government will provide a 100% rebate on surcharge to domestic consumers with a load up to one kilowatt if they pay their dues in full during the first phase. The UP One-Time Settlement Scheme will be implemented in three different phases. The One-Time solution will encourage all citizens with outstanding electricity bills to pay their bills easily.

UP One-Time Settlement Scheme 2024-25
The Uttar Pradesh One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme helps electricity consumers pay their outstanding bills with financial relief. There are more than 350,000 electricity consumers in the district, of which about 190,000 have dues due by September 30, 2024, the scheme is a significant step towards reducing dues and helping consumers achieve financial stability. Under which citizens can pay their bills in one-time settlement.
The scheme offers several important benefits including interest subsidy to encourage prompt payment of dues. According to Harish Bansal, Chief Engineer, PVVNL Noida, the OTS scheme provides a unique opportunity to consumers to repay their dues without paying any additional charges or facing disruption in service.
Objective of UP One-Time Settlement Scheme
The main objective of the UP One Time Settlement Scheme is to assist consumers in paying their outstanding electricity bills. Under this scheme, the government aims to provide interest subsidy and rebate on surcharge. Under Phase 1 of the scheme, citizens paying their outstanding bills will get 100% subsidy from the state government. In Phase 2, subsidy will be provided up to 80% and in Phase 3, up to 70%. In this way, defaulters will be encouraged to pay the dues to avoid additional charges.

Benefits of Phase 1 (December 15th to 31st)
- Citizens who pay their due bills in Phase 1 can avail 100% interest subsidy. This phase provides maximum financial relief to defaulters.
Phase 2 (January 1st to 15th)
- Citizens who pay their due bills in Phase 2 can avail 80% interest subsidy, which provides significant financial relief to early payers.
