The main objective of launching this scheme is to provide financial assistance to every farmer family of Jharkhand state whose crops have been affected by drought. Jharkhand state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 3,500 to farmers whose crops have been destroyed due to drought. By starting this scheme, the state government will provide the benefits of this scheme to about 30 lakh farmers of the state, due to which all those farmers will become self-reliant and will improve their economic condition to some extent. As we previously stated, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Mr. Hemant Soren, has announced 226 blocks in 22 districts of the state as drought-affected areas. This means that every farmer in those areas are eligible to apply for this scheme and avail its benefits.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Farmers who have lost crops due to natural disasters such as drought, flood, cyclone, hailstorm, and so on are eligible to apply for the plan.
  • The scheme is only available to farmers who are Jharkhand residents and have been involved in agricultural operations for at least two years.
  • Farmers must own property or have legitimate lease documentation for the land on which they grow.
  • Farmers must be registered with the relevant revenue authority and have a valid Kisan Credit Card.
  • Farmers should not have taken advantage of any comparable assistance initiatives offered by the state or federal governments for the same crop loss.
  • To get benefits under the plan, farmers must submit the essential documentation, including as land ownership certificates, Kisan Credit Card data, and proof of crop loss due to natural catastrophes.
