Government provides 60% subsidy
The government provide a subsidy of about 60% to farmers for installing solar panels by PM Kusum Yojana 2022. At the same time, you get 30% loan from the bank, a total of Rs 10,000 will have to be invested by itself. After this you can take benefit of free electricity. It also has an advantage that the farmer can earn an income for 25 years by selling the surplus electricity generated from the solar pump to the Electricity Distribution Company (DISCOM).

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
- For 1 KW solar power, the farmer should have at least 10 square meters of space.
- The farmer can set up the solar plant himself or can get it installed by leasing the land to the developer.
- Whether you have barren land or crop land, you can get solar panels installed on both.
- To install a solar plant, the farmer should have land within a radius of 5 km from the power sub-station.
