Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

For OCES:

  • Candidates must have a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) degree in relevant disciplines from a recognized university with at least 60% grades or CGPA equivalent.
  • Candidates in the final year of their degree may also apply provided they meet all other eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates must have a valid GATE score in the appropriate discipline.

For DGFS:

  • Candidates must have qualified for the OCES program and obtained admission to a participating institute for the M.Tech/ME program in the relevant disciplines.
  • Candidates must have a valid GATE score in the appropriate discipline.
  • Candidates must have at least 60% grades or CGPA equivalent on their B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) degree.

Selection Process

  • The BARC Recruitment 2023 Science Officer selection process consists of the following phases:
  • Online Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called to an online test consisting of multiple-choice questions in their respective disciplines.
  • Interview: Candidates who qualify for the online test will be invited to an interview at BARC, Mumbai. The interview is conducted to assess the candidate’s technical knowledge, aptitude, and communication skills.
  • Final Selection: Final selection is based on the candidate’s combined online test and interview performance. Selected candidates complete a one-year Graduate Engineering and Postgraduate Sciences (OCES) orientation course at the BARC Training Schools, followed by a two-year DAE Graduate Scholarship Program (DGFS) at a participating institute of your choice.
